For the first time in many years, Samsung has a handset that is worthy to be called a proper flagship. The last time we saw something as impressive and equally threatening as the Galaxy S6 was with the Galaxy S2. It took quite a while but at least they’ve finally redeemed themselves.
For its target market, we see it being appealing to people who always enjoy a good road trip and even for individuals who need to finish last-minute corrections or send emails while inside the car (with someone else driving, of course).
It’s not a perfect smartphone and comes with its fair share of shortcomings but it’s probably one of the best ones out there that you can get for just under Php7,000. Local brands would be hard pressed to pit their flagship devices with this one.
Asus has taken commendable strides to keep improving their Fonepad lineup, and the Fonepad 8 is a true testament to that. The company has kept all of the features that made the Fonepad popular among tablet users and has revamped some of the features to make it more competitive in the market.
The OPPO N3 is every bit a flagship phone as it claims to be. It has a premium build, sleek-looking design, large crisp and vibrant display, fingerprint sensor, O-Click, good performance, and a unique yet capable camera. Its ColorOS 2.0 is also worth giving praise as it provides the user tons of features and customization options.
ASUS Zenfone 2 (Video Review)
We’ve brought you 3 separate reviews of the Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE500CL, ZE500ML, ZE551ML). This time, we consolidated the reviews to give you a video version for easier consumption.
If we could sum up the Lenovo A7000’s specialty in one word, it would definitely be “multimedia”. Its thin bezels are great for viewing images and videos, screen (although just HD resolution) has impressive vibrance and details to it, and sound quality is top-notch and truly immersive once you use a good pair of cans and sound amplifiers.
With a price tag of Php 6,990, Huawei Honor 4C is a great bet to the growing affordable mid-range Androids. Its IPS HD screen and good optics for stills, both front and back, can be good selling points for most Filipino consumers. We just hope a more ergonomic design was used.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad, although a 2014 device, proves to be a strong offering in 2015. It has the hardware, design, and build that would satisfy all types of tablet users especially Android gamers and heavy multimedia users.
Quick Review:
The new LIVA X is also more powerful than its predecessor. It is perhaps a proper mini-PC with better connectivity, performance and additional ports.
For the price of Php7,995, the JBL Charge 2 is a tough buy if you value sound quality. But it is, however, a good buy if you want something loud & (distorting-ly) bassy, neat-looking, and long-lasting. There are a lot of times that I still pair to this at home, but really, I just prefer plugging in my earphones.
LG continued to ride on their success with the G3 from last year so this year’s flagship, the LG G4, improved on that with refinements that went as far as incorporating an authentic leather design.
